For as long as I could remember my younger brother had always been a bully. Of course being the baby in the family our parents wouldn't hear any of it. Even with the detentions at school, the complaining teachers and principals, the boy could do no wrong. He made everyones life miserable. The moment I turned eighteen I moved away. I enjoyed a few blissful bully free years at college. Safe from the torment of having to live at home. I grew as a person and only ever had to see the family a few times a year during holidays.

That was until the pandemic hit. The scholarship that kept me living on campus for the past few years dried up. The job I had to make extra money let me go. There was nothing I could do but move back home after I spent every waking moment trying to find a job to prevent it. It was inevitable. As I knocked on the door. All my worldly possessions on the few bags in my arms the evil smile of my brother revealed itself as he answered. "Oh it's so nice to see you again." The evil voice mocked. He had been free loading on the good will of our parents for the past few years after graduating school. Not even taking up a job or trying to go to college. Our parents only wanted what was best for their son.

A new age of misery was upon me as I sniffed back a tear and stepped through the threshold of my old home.

Thanks for reading my first prompt. I wanted to keep my character a big vague as I think input from my partner is valuable in deciding character looks and personality.
