Hello! Starting to think up a Northeastern US trip, and would love to hear…

Trip Planning

…your tips! We’ll be picking up a car in NYC and then want to hit all of those states (except maybe Vermont because of time) north of NY, including going into NY state proper.

Very early stages of planning so I haven’t mapped out a route yet, and was hoping you guys could help me get started.

We’ll have one week, for reference.

  • If you’ve been up there/live there, what are some of the lesser known towns that are awesome?

  • Related to that: any memorable bad and breakfast and/or small hotels?

  • Are there any well-known scenic drives that have lesser-known counterparts? I’m sure I can Google figure out the well-known ones, but would love to hear if you’ve ever done a “back way” route that was dope/memorable.

  • Should we end up in Quebec, or Prince Edward Island? Very different vibes, I know. If you’ve been to both, would just love to hear if you thought one was better than the other (or if you just truly can’t compare because they’re so different).

  • Any state parks or natural areas up that way that are very impressive? (We’ll go to Acadia NP too.)

  • Coastal drive, or inland forest/mountains drive? Or maybe just make a route that incorporates both?

Anyway, these are SUPER specific questions, but I’d take really any tips about anything relating to that part of the world.
