did the amount of titles available for free with the base subscription decrease or something?

A year ago I was listening to a book, and I decided I wanted to keep listening to it so I went back to go read it. suddenly I have to pay $30+ for it to be able to listen???? I looked back through the catalog and I couldn't find a single free title. is this a recent change orrr have I just been out of the loop
