Vertical labret and braces?

im getting braces in around 8 months, and ive been wanting a vertical labret for a while,, and given the state of my teeth i imagine ill be having braces for a while

will a vertical labret be okay with braces, as it doesnt actually go through the lip? especially if i do it sooner rather than later so itll be healed by the time i get my braces on, any advice will be great!
