Passed out at work yesterday morning.
I had 26 days sober when I decided to start having two beers after work. I knew this was a bad idea but after the first three days seemed fine, I kept it up. fast forward a week and I had a morning shift after closing the night before. Rather than get some sleep I stayed up and drank, only sleeping for about an hour before heading in. Then the hangover came in so I had to spike a vitamin water on my way to work. All I remember is my coworker making a joke about how I didn't look so good, arguing with a customer, and ultimately waking up with my manager standing in front of me. Who was not scheduled to work that day. We didn't exchange any words. I just stood up, clocked out and grabbed my bike. All she said was "be careful". I fell off my bike on the way home, skinned up my hand and knee pretty bad. All I feel now is shame and embarrassment. My girl is understanding, my father said he'll help me out as much as he can being 3,000 miles away, and my therapist reminded me that I'm not a mistake. I simply made one. I feel like garbage and don't yet know if I'm fired but I do know that I'm not drinking today. I'm also embarrassed to show my face if I'm miraculously still employed. Back in hell, right where the devil wants be. But determined to leave. If you're thinking about drinking today, just don't. Take it from me. Peace and love
