Playing 3p with 2 basically new players tomorrow, hyperlanes?

Should I use the hyperlanes layout for 3p, I know if probably plays smoother but I worry it might look too scary, and I'd have to use printed covers over the tiles since I only have base game. Bit more context, I've started small 2p games with them both just to teach them how it works but we didn't have much time, and frankly we probably won't finish this game either but they're both still eager to play, even though they don't have a super firm understanding of the rules. I'm not sure if it's the right move or if I should just go with the 3p prebuilt from the map, since that seems alright
