Is it actually practical to become a doctor through the military?
Sorry this may be a stupid question, I (26F) am a civilian and my younger sister just joined the national guard and is now starting a career in IT. Well it looks like it's going pretty well for her and I've been wanting to do a career change into the medical field, but there's no chance in hell I could ever afford all the school required for it and also work two jobs to pay my bills. So I started thinking about trying my luck and go through the military, since it sounds like they'll take care of the basic necessities for you while also paying for the schooling. But obviously it can't be that straight forward, and while I'd normally just go talk to recruiter to find out about the finer details, I don't want to be sold something. So, genuinely, is it actually pheasible to get something as high up as a Doctorate? Or is it just a pipe dream? And if it possible to do in the first place, is it actually worth it in everyones experience?
