Lag on Glamdring ?

Hi my friend and I brand new players. We started playing for the first time ever last night and we were wondering if rubber banding / stuttering around and the general latency of actions is the norm in this game? We planned to play all night but after about an hour and only getting to level 10 I couldn't handle my frustration anymore. It really is borderline unplayable and it sucks because we are HUGE lotr fans and mmo nerds in general but I just couldn't get past how awful it felt. Like I've played illegal private servers of random ass mmos from a million years ago that run better than the dumpster fire we experienced last night lol. I'd even be willing to pay the vip subscription for the other servers if it guaranteed me a playable experience. Are the vip servers better? Was it just a bad night? Is this just how the game is? Any insight or advice would be awesome cuz I really wanna get into this game. I was so excited to explore middle earth 🥲
