Etisalat Egypt employee tried to extort 280 EGP for a routine residency grace extension

WTF?! | !احا ايه ده؟

I’m a foreigner living in Egypt. Here, mobile numbers are tied to your residency permit. When the permit expires, operators normally give a free one-month grace period while the new residency is processed—no payment required.

This time, my first number was successfully extended at e& with no problem. But when I went back to the same branch for my second number, a different employee suddenly demanded 280 EGP in cash. When I refused and reminded him this isn’t standard procedure, he said everything would be fine—then cut service on both numbers, including the one that had already been updated.

Any clue what to do in such situation? Cause i went again to get my number working , had a nice employee who restored my line , and he was there watching, and got my other number cut back again, dont the compnay have policy to prevent such preying?

Can the employee do this freely whenever he want?

Because even if i go to another branch, he can search me by name or phone number and do it again?

Sorry for posting here, staying without a working phone number on emergency situations sucks.
