I am looking at a couple places and could use some feedback

Hey! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here.

Background: I'm about halfway through my Army contract and planning to start an MSW program in two years. After graduation, I'll likely return to Chicago, but I want to experience somewhere new during the program.

What I'm looking for: Cities with strong diversity and inclusion (in demographics, university environments, and communities), excellent food scenes, vibrant arts scene (museums, cafés, bookstores), and martial arts (specifically judo/sambo) training opportunities.

Cities I'm considering: Miami, Houston, Austin, Seattle, Philadelphia, and Las Vegas.

UNLV was a pleasant surprise: I was impressed by the MSW program's diversity, veteran benefits, and martial arts scene of the city. Houston and Austin also appeal to me as places where I could focus on my studies in a more relaxed environment.

Financial considerations: I'll be relying on BAH and drill pay, so cost of living is definitely a factor.

My approach: I'm actively researching MSW programs in these cities and plan to visit my top choices before deciding, but I'd love to hear from people with firsthand experience.

Looking for insights: If you live in or have spent time in any of these cities, what's the overall vibe like? Any important considerations I should know when choosing where to pursue my MSW?
