Just why(Gaiden,spoilers)

Why do all the three main character in SW have such intense,tragic backstories..?,Cyril is relatively better,but even his would be protagonist-level trauma in most other works.Monica's is just brutal,and >!Ike only reaches the starting line after Gaiden ends!<...I just want all of them to be happyyy!
