The future of “high art” won’t hang on a wall. It’ll be sealed in a slab.
My take - For centuries, fine art was the ultimate status symbol. But today, trading cards are stealing the spotlight. Pokémon, Magic, and even newer games like Lorcana are proving that cultural nostalgia, fandom, and scarcity can rival the prestige of a painting.
Cards are easier to trade, easier to authenticate, and resonate more with younger collectors who grew up valuing them as treasures. As wealth shifts generations, the “high art” of tomorrow may not hang on walls—it’ll be sealed in slabs.
