My airpods (pro 2nd gen) case gets hot while charging, makes a weird sound (like it’s distorted) then when unplugged immediately dies is this normal?

Basically what the title says, I’ve been trying to wrap my head around it.

I can’t afford for a new one as im already low on funds.
