The Symphony of Letting Go

Metaphysical

I find myself bowing before the altar of time, eyes closed in quiet trepidation I feel the gentle calm, “this is more than enough” I think in grateful tones ready to return, yet a whisper beckons “come… come…”.

I look up and see a mighty stairway stretching into the sky, i begin to climb, but the quiet wind whispers again “you must leave behind a piece of yourself at each step”. Excitedly I toss things out. At first the going is easy and I quickly ascend to great heights. But soon I must reach into myself deeper and deeper, bringing to light my essence, my wounds, my core. Weeping I hold each piece to my heart where they are bathed in my tears before relinquishing their place.

I worry “How can I keep going when there’s nothing left?” I reassure myself that I can pick it all up on the way back. It’s only just for this moment. Finally i reach the last stair. Here I must place my heart. As I open and bring it out, I gasp at its unspeakable beauty. This is my heart?!? How could I not know all this time how beautiful you are. We hold each other for the longest time, it tells me all the stories of how it grew. All of its hopes and dreams, all of the pain and sorrow, the mistakes, the missed opportunities, the restorations of forgiveness, and the immeasurable love and care too, given by so many.

As our time draws nearer, it reveals to me that it was never actually mine. It was a gift, and it only truly loved when it is shared, when it is given. It belongs to us all, and with each act of intention, we are all its creators. I finally place our beautiful heart on the last step, and as its revelation sparkles in a play of light, a powerful gust of wind blows around me and down the staircase, sending all of the pieces of myself tumbling, bouncing and colliding in a way that fills the air with the most wonderful music I’ve ever heard. A timeless tintinnabulation, a sound collage of the joy of being, a pure cascading waterfall of endless symphonies resounding with the peace of letting go.

And then I too let go, and take one final step into the eternal embrace… ✨✨✨
