I was SA’d by a teacher
Trigger Warning
This is my story and need to get this off my chest..I was SA'd by teacher who has abused numerous of young girls throughout his 37 years of teaching. He has taught in 3 different states (Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas) and 7 different schools. He kept moving, teaching, and no one stopped him. What makes it even harder is knowing I’m not the only one. There are so many of us who were abused, and yet the schools, the institutions, and the people who should have spoken up stayed silent. They protected him instead of protecting kids.
The offenders own son has came forward and told people what his dad had done. He has been trying to get his dad out from teaching for 3 years. He even went to the Department of Education with a letter full of statements from girls who wrote about what his dad had done to them. One girl didn’t want her statement in writing and instead asked to be called. No one ever called her. No one followed up. No one did anything.
The abuse should of stopped when it it first occurred in the mid 80s, however no one ever listened. It was brought up multiple times to school officials who did absolutely nothing.
It also should of stopped with me in the early 2000s , when I first complained. He was a bus aid on my bus and would always sit next to me and would touch me inappropriately while the bus driver would watch from the mirror and would not do anything to stop him. One of those days he asked to walk me across the street and when I told him no, and did it anyway. When we got to my door he told me to draw him a picture, because he was going to come right back. I was only 9 years old. Luckily I had someone come pick me up since I was home alone. But from what neighbors said, was that they saw a man looking through our windows. I told my mom what happened and she went to the school to complain. But the school did nothing to stop him. He was still allowed to be on my bus, and the abuse continued and got worse.
Almost every girl who was victimized by him spoke up, however no one did a thing. When it got bad, the schools that he would be at pushed him around like trash.
I tried to fight. I made a police report. I spoke up on social media. I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. My case was “no-billed” for lack of evidence. That crushed me. Because how much more evidence does the system need?
I don’t want pity. I just want the truth to be known. I was abused. Many others were abused by this man. The warnings were there for decades, and everyone looked the other way.
At this point, I don’t even know what else to do. How do you keep going when you’ve given everything you have, and it still feels like no one will listen?
