After my previous post I set up Tailscale for remote streaming and…

It works……(?)

So I’ve previously had Tailscale set up on my trueNAS system for my Immich application where I’m backing it up automatically even when not at home.

So I tried it with plex (no ports open), added my Tailscale IP in (Plex admin) Settings -> Network -> Custom server access URL

And it’s working flawlessly.

• Is this a better approach than port forwarding in terms of safety?

*Am I missing something?

• Why is this working? Plex have put remote streaming behind paywall, is this against TOS?

So many questions.
