help aligning brake caliper?

i was replacing the brake pads on my ride1up revv1 and now the rear is rubbing pretty noticeably. it is an uneven rubbing sound, once per revolution not constant, but the disc has no visible bend and i didn’t hear any rubbing before i swapped the pads. here’s what i’ve tried so far

• loosening the caliper, spinning the wheel and clenching the brake lever a couple times, then tightening the caliper while pinning down the brake lever (x3)
• eyeballing the pads with a light shining through to make sure the disc isn’t touching either pad (x2)

then i got too hot and sat down to write this post. any obvious tricks im missing?
