Making and spending a ton of money is doing enough for society
If you earned $1M income every year, giving 1/3 to the government, spending 1/3, and saving 1/3, that by itself is contributing a ton to society.
Asking such a person “what they do for their community” in terms of volunteering and charity completely ignores the fact that they are already doing a ton for the community.
They could easily be sitting at home doing nothing with their time and money. Would that be preferable?
