Armor/Limb Health balancing is super immersion breaking
To preface this, I'm generally a pretty big fan of the direction tabor has been headed, new island looks and feels pretty great, revamped loot spawns, headphones, etc. What doesn't feel good is all the mid-power AR's feeling like airsoft guns. Unless you're wearing a juggernaut suit blunt damage should be way higher, not 4-6 damage a bullet. On top of that the ability of the armors to stop calibers is absurd, for example irl the atlyn helmet isn't going to be stopping most 5.56x45mm, let alone 7.62x39mm.
Also, the actual danger to people to good armor has also been made way lower by the fact that the only exposed bits have independent health pools, that only till reaching zero will affect the torso whatsoever. Basically if you don't fully black out a limb its like you didn't do jack sh*t. If a player gets shot in a limb, they should take partial damage to the torso, even if the limb isn't blacked, people would bleed if shot.
If you somehow think armor is in a good state, take a good look at why so many people are running the g3 EVERYWHERE. Its full power so it actually has decent pen chances with fmj (and with AP being basically non-existent its not really worth talking about). Basically its the only gun that isn't super expensive that can actually sometimes deal damage to decent armor, cuase unless you're running a max alpha or ak5c dealing enough damage with mid-power is kinda a joke.
Having started a bit late I think I'm just going to have to sit out this wipe. Getting to spec 3 so I can actually run some full power has been a miserable grind when even with a massive tactical edge on opponents I'm unable to kill them because they're armor makes up for their lack of skill. These players with heavy kit just run around with little care because at distance most guns can't actually kill them before they reach cover, and they can hear anyone up close enough to actually be of any danger whatsoever.
Loot should be important, but loot shouldn't save you when you play like a dumbass.
