I-751 waiver sent but no update yet

Hi there!

I sent an i751 joint petition last year. Unfortunately, I found out my ex was cheating on me and it’s been really though going through divorce and healing. I decided to hire a lawyer and she sent the waiver and divorce decree. It’s been 3 months and I haven’t heard or seen any update on my petition. I understand this could take a while but I have an upcoming work trip next month.

I asked my lawyer if USCIS sends a notification letter, letting us know about the update on the petition but her replied was she was not expecting any notification about it. However she couldn’t really tell me how we can know if the petition has been converted previous the interview. It leaves me with the uncertainty.

Is that how it works? I thought USCIS notifies about any those typo of changes.

I’m concerned about whether it’s safe for me to travel abroad. I just don’t want to risk it without being sure that my petition has been updated if at the re-entry immigration officers may question me about my process.

Has anyone here received any type of update when you converted your petition from joint to divorce waiver?
