2006 Honda Civic 1.3 Hybrid Ticking Noise

My 2006 Honda Civic 1.3 Hybrid (116k km/ 72 k miles) (EU Model) with CVT Transmission and IMA makes a ticking noise. I got the car for cheap but don't have any history for the car except oil was changed very recently. I checked the oil level and is ok. The car drives very good and the motor is also working fine. The noise is most prominent in idle or when driving very slow with low rpm in traffic. The noise is linked to engine speed. The ticking noise seems to come from the right side of the engine compartment. I suspect something driven by the drive belt or injectors? I turned AC on/off but nothing changed. Any ideas what would sound this way that I should check first. My next step would be to take the belt off and test for a short duration if the noise is gone.
