If Life (and by extension, consciousness) are from God, and Hell is seperation from God, then why do those in Hell not simply cease to exist?

God is goodness, so those who are seperated from him will not experience goodness. In other words, Hell.

But if Life is part of goodness, then naturally those in Hell should also not experience Life.

Not that God himself would destroy them. But in the same way God doesn't punish, shouldn't they naturally cease to exist?
