AITA for sending a picture of my de** mom to her profile after it was hacked?
New account- never had a profile but seen lots of videos so I’m new to the community
AITA for sending a picture of my mom after she had passed away, to the fb account that got hacked and continued to impersonate her?
So obviously my mom died. She passed away earlier this year and I handed the majority of the following organization of her estate- which wasn’t much..
My mom had a record of not being financially well off. Therefore logically she was the worst person to use for scamming money off of people. She was a hoarder and spent way too much for her well-being.
Her fb account got hacked the day I picked up her ashes. She was deceased for a month at this point. I woke up to a message first thing in the morning the following day saying “hey how are you doing today hope everything is going well with you?” I responded with hello? Where the imposter replied “good to hear from you, I’ve been doing good and happy and thanking God for the life, how’s family?” I regret not playing along longer but I was full panic mode so I said “you’re not my mom- who are you” where I was removed from the conversation.
I came to the conclusion that if I was getting put through this -then they would be too. Soooo I sent a picture of her dead body. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten a response until today (last message from them was Aug 4 and today is sept 13). They asked the same message again where I followed with questioning if they saw the picture. If they respond then I will update.
I have brought this story to a few of my friends and I’m getting mixed reactions- some getting angry… Did I go to far? Or did this hacker deserve getting hit in the face with an unmade up corpse?
AITA
