Eye of Ayak or My Favorite item

My favorite item in the game is the dragon hunter lance. It was my first big purchase and I just love the way it looks. However, I do not find myself using it too often outside of vorkath or dragon task. I'm not a big raids guy and I do not do CoX on the regular. Alongside this, I also have a fang, which I've heard is very close to the DHL in most situations.

Today, I noticed that the eye of ayak is around 70mil. The general rhetoric I've seen is that this item is extremely good. The only way I'd be able to purchase it though, is to sell my DHL. I'm worried that if I do not do this now, the eye of ayak will spike out of my price range.

Is it worth it to do that? Is the eye generally more useful then the DHL? Is it even worth it to upgrade to the eye without the guantlets if I have sang?

Sorry if this seems like a nooby question.
