No new Revenue Agent positions for a while?

I'm a GS-7 Tax Examiner who has my accounting credits, and applied to Revenue Agent positions in October 2024. I also went to a direct hiring event in early November 2024, they said I'd "hear back in 40 days." That never happened, and then the hiring freeze was instituted when the new administration came on board.

Any guesses on if there will be any exemptions for RA postings like the recent Attorney ones, or am I basically screwed for the next 4 years?
