The hysteria against DEI/Affirmative Action is justified and always will be until and unless standardized test score gap closes. Quack standards are infact responsible for racism.

I don't know if leftists think that everyone else is stupid or they genuinely don't care about reading and math ability of school kids. I'm a Liberal, I don't like right wing politics yet this hollow upliftment of historically oppressed group via quack subjective metrics like charisma, personality, inspiration, hell even essays is so pathetic. The Left has some guts to brush off their poor education outcomes in school as systemic racism and just do absolutely nothing about it.

The same thing happens in India but instead of quack metrics there's an explicit quota system for 50% of population..They are actually trying to raise the reservation to 75% but not a single voice calls to address the proficiency gap in schools. Tbf Indian system is atleast transparent.

Why exactly do people expect historically oppressed groups to have proportionate representation in elite positions when most of them didn't even do well in school? The elephant in the room is test score. Artificially boosting college enrollment rate through quack subjective metrics means it's pretty RATIONAL to suspect those groups to be less competent even with the exact same college degree!

This matters especially in high stakes profession like doctor, engineer or pilot. The group itself becomes a proxy for competency because the standards were altered specially for them. Sad thing is that the actual top performers in those groups end up being real victims.
