Creating restaurant and takeaway dishes at home

Have you tried recreating dishes from restaurants/takeaways at home and how did they match dishes from restaurants/takeaways. There are endless kindle books on how to do BIR curries and there are plenty of YouTube channels on BIR curries and Chinese restaurant/takeaway cooking. I have a book called the Takeaway Secret with recipes for various takeaway dishes.
