What A Coincidence

Last weekend I had this awesome client who is also a Rover sitter themselves. They had two pets who were super sweet and I had a blast with them. The client gave me an awesome review and it was a great sit. A week ago I had another sit cancel on me due to their trip being cancelled and I gave them a full refund. No biggie at all I totally get plans change and I wasn’t upset at all. Fast forward to my sit this last weekend I notice this Rover sitter has their calendar printed out on their fridge. I didn’t really care but noticed the clients that had cancelled with me were on their calendar for the exact same days. They have unique names and I knew it was the client that cancelled. It turned out the client that cancelled on me actually didn’t cancel their trip and they just lied and made me go through the refund process. I thought it was a crazy coincidence that the Rover sitter I was sitting for had sat for the clients that cancelled on me. I am not mad at the Rover sitter at all, they are great and they’re just doing there job. I am just extremely annoyed the client that cancelled lied about cancelling their trip and got a full refund. I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t interview/shop around BEFORE booking and taking time on my books. It’s totally okay to say “I am looking into other sitters as well” or “hey I just want to let you know we are going with another sitter”. Again, just such a crazy coincidence!

Dear sitters: Don’t waste our time or take space away from others who would actually use our time!
