Let’s talk about the fire islands
This has been a thing that’s bothered me for a while now and I commented under a post about it but it would make more sense to actually post: the fire expansion and now the unused fire island songs.
Let’s start with fire expansion: I love the fire expansion. It’s so cool to see the quints on the islands as well as the extra quads we never got to see on the islands. That’s wonderful. Something that has always bugged me was the choices they made for where the monsters go. Mainly because I am a big fan of logic and I’m unfortunately a 20 year old putting logic to a kids game. HOWEVER, this is point number one:
- The quints don’t match the elements of the quads they went with.
Let’s take Psychic. Psychic has Bowhead, Edamimi and Bisonorus. Bowhead has all elements except Earth. So then why is Edamimi here? Ok well that’s one island what about the rest? Faerie has Tuskski, PongPing and Krillby. Tuskski has all elements except Plant. Again, PongPing has Plant. Light has Drummidary, Yelmut and Tiawa. To speed this up Tiawa doesn’t belong due to having the Water element and on Bone island, which has Gnarls, Flum Ox doesn’t belong. Even Mimic is out of place by being on an island with the Fire Element but for the sake of argument I feel like Mimic could stay due to being able to replicate anything. Candelavra is the only one who fits their island. So then that leads to 2 options: either A. The quints were put on the wrong islands or B. The quads were. (Or C. They didn’t care which is probably true). Now I’ve let this be and just kinda gave up on it until today’s video releasing the unused elements. Which leads me to point number 2
- The unreleased monsters don’t make sense.
If you don’t understand what I mean go watch the video and come back. Ok? Good. So I have a couple issues with specifically 2 of the elements added to the islands. Noggin on Psychic, and Tweedle on Bone. So as I mentioned in my previous point, both of these elements shouldn’t exist on these islands if the quints were supposed to be where they were. Which on top of that means also that the quads they had on these islands before magicals existed also didn’t make sense. So now I’m lost. Am I overthinking it? Yes but that’s what people with ADHD do lol. So I give you my possible answers on how to fix it.
Solution 1. Make the islands based off the quints
This solution is the most work as it would mean changing both the original concepts and the fire expansion. But it could be done in this fan made version I guess. The easiest fixes would be Faerie and Light island, which would be changing out PongPing and Tiawa for Flum Ox and PongPing respectively. Now the harder ones would be Psychic and Bone but I think I got it. For Psychic, have the quads be Incisaur and Bisonorus which would mean the video today would have either Mammott or Tweedle instead of Noggin. Then for Bone have the quads be Tiawa and Edamimi, meaning the video would have either Mammott or Noggin instead of Tweedle.
Solution 2. Make the islands based off the video today.
Ok this one will be interesting. I’m going to try and do this without making too many changes to the quads. If we are to look at the video and in my world assume that fire haven and fire oasis aren’t changing, that means Fire Frontier (Psychic) would be Gnarls’ Island. This means that the quads there would be Edamimi and Incisaur so Gnarls and Incisaur move from Bone to Psychic. Fire Park (Faerie) would then be Drummidary’s Island. This would keep the same quads of Krillby and PongPing. Fire Bastion (Bone Island) would be Tuskski’s island. This would include Flum Ox and Tiawa for the quads. Finally giving us Fire whatever that word is (Light) which would be home to Bowhead, Yelmut and Bisonorus.
I really hope this all made sense and in the end it’s just a hypothetical yk
