how do i become fluent in a language?

i am learning brazilian portuguese for my brazilian mother. i plan on going there for summer break next year. currently, i have rosetta stone and i use it when i can, but its not always accessible to me so i also use duolingo occasionally, and i follow a ton of native portuguese speakers on tiktok. if anyone has any tips on things i could do to improve my language learning journey, it would be greatly appreciated!
