Play Store's web UI seems broken?

Hi. Quick example:

On my desktop machine, using the Brave browser, I log into the Google Play Store and search for "smart home" apps. This returns only 14 results with no 'next page' link or anything that I can see. If I narrow the search parameters from "all devices" to "Google Pixel 9 pro", I get zero results.

On my aforementioned P9pro using the Play Store app, if I search for "smart home" apps, I get dozens of search results. I stopped counting at 50.

Why the discrepancy? Is this Google's way of saying "We don't want you to use the web from your desktop machine to install apps to your phone?"
