Question: Hydraulic Brake Removal

Hey all,

If I take off my current hoods/brake levers to put on a new set of handlebars will there be any complications with my hydraulic brakes?

I got a new cockpit and I am wondering if the swap over is something I can do on my own or if I will need to bring it to my LBS. I have the basic tools but have not dealt with hydraulic liquid or bleeding of any kind.
