Does anyone else wish gaming was still niche?
I feel like ever since gaming became more popular every aspect of it starts to get worse. I feel like AAA studios don’t really care about the games they make anymore. It feels like as long as the sales from the first year are high they couldn’t care less about the community for that game. I also feel like the community used to be way more welcoming and supportive but now it feels like you aren’t even allowed to like certain games which brings me to my second point. Am I the only one who is over all the political stuff in the gaming community?
I swear every time there’s either a black or female protagonist people instantly write it off as “woke” or political, like we can’t just play games anymore we have to hear how harmful a black protagonist is to the gaming industry for the millionth time. I understand there are some games that are genuinely over the top with soulless identity politics but nowhere near the amount it seems like the people who throws the word woke around thinks. I don’t know maybe I’m just in the wrong reddits what do you guys think?
Everything is just starting to feel soulless.
