President Trump now threatens to strip American citizens of our very citizenship, starting not with violent extremists like Vance Boelter - who murdered a lawmaker for speaking out against the president - but with critics like Rosie O’Donnell for that same "crime" of dissent. That is why, when masked, nameless agents cage a Baton Rouge veteran’s wife and force her to nurse her baby behind bars, I am more than outraged. I am scared.

I am scared knowing our citizenship is contingent on loyalty to a man. The same faceless power that let ICE agents cage a mother and her breastfeeding infant now threatens us all, and these same masked men could just as easily storm our homes, strip us of our citizenship, and lock our own children in cages. Any officer who hides his badge is not a public servant but an instrument of terror. This is not politics; it is a test of our basic humanity.

You, Senator, have the power to restore that humanity. By supporting the VISIBLE Act (S.2212), you will make federal agents put their names behind their actions - ensuring brutality is dragged into the light of the courtroom, not sheltered in darkness. I urge you in the strongest possible terms: co-sponsor this bill now. Stand with the people of Louisiana, not nameless enforcers. Prove that democracy, transparency, and decency still matter here.
