What Were Your Personal and Political Beliefs Pre and Post Faith Crisis?
I would guess that a large majority of Latter-Day Saints are conservative. This doesn’t mean to say that there can’t be “faithful/true blue” liberals, but I would just say that the average member leans conservative. However, it seems as one goes through a faith crisis or faith transition, many of their religious, and perhaps personal beliefs become more liberal.
If you have someone who’s experienced a change in religious belief, did this impact other belief systems as well? Were you someone who is conservative and is now liberal? Have your political views moderated? What did your political and personal views look like prior to a belief change and what do they look like now?
Note: I’m talking about widespread ideological beliefs in general. This does not necessarily have anything to do with the recent events at Utah Valley University.
