Carmina, Crockett & Jones, etc. - Recommendations needed for shops/brands to explore in NYC

I’m heading to NYC in December and I’d like to explore some shoe shops/different brands that are available to me in my city.

To give reference for my current collection, I’ve got a decent shoe selection with some pretty good brands- mostly Allen Edmonds, To Boot, Magnanni, Bally and DJ Pliner. I’ve got some others sprinkled in there that are higher end designers, too, but this gives you an idea.

What I’m looking for… leather sole Oxfords and Loafers. I might be interested in a whole cut, as well. I’d like to try something that’s really well crafted, probably a Goodyear welt.

I’m really interested in Carmina. I’ve never seen them in person. That $500-600 price point is where I am looking to land. I wouldn’t mind exploring Crockett & Jones, but they’re a bit higher price than I’m looking at. They would have to completely wow me to spend that much.

What brands/stores would you recommend? Up until now, I’ve been looking at Allen Edmonds quality (which has gone down in recent years). I like Magnanni, but none of those that I own have leather soles (I’m looking at leather soles).

If you have specific stores to visit, let me know. Carmina is definitely on the list.
