I need help understanding and designing a guitar setup for an apartment.
Greetings, my dilemma is the following: I have a guitar, several pedals, and a Fender 15g amplifier (horrible). The issue is that I recently moved to an apartment in the city for work, and playing with the amplifier is no longer an option since it would disturb the neighbors and probably get me a fine (before, I lived in a house).
I've thought of several ways to create a setup so I can play at a moderate volume while still having the versatility of an amp's gain. Currently, the only solution I have is connecting headphones to the amp's output, but this will literally make me deaf sooner or later.
What should I include or buy to be able to play like before, with a moderate volume output that is still clear enough? I had thought about a pedal like the IR-2 which has a headphone output, but I don't know if that's what I'm looking for, or maybe it is and I'm missing something like an audio interface to connect the headphones and have it sound clear without making me deaf.
But the truth is, I don't understand anything about interfaces, nor do I really understand pedals like the IR-2 that emulate amplifiers. Should they go through speakers?
I really need guidance to solve this since I don't want to stop playing just because I live here; it's practically my only hobby.
