It’s annoying how much people try to defend how children and lolis are depicted in anime

Whenever it’s brought up that depiction of children are extremely sexual I see in anime in manga, so many people are quick to defend it. It’s not even just the gooners, but general fans just can’t accept when their favorite series has weird shit in it.

They’re always quick to say how “it’s not real” but that’s not even the point. No one is fighting to protect the animated character from the way they’re depicted. It’s about why the author depicts children in this way. The author is catering to a certain audience when they draw children sexually and how there is a whole culture surrounding this. Sexualization of school girls is a wide spread issue through out the world but it’s especially been documented to be bad in Japan. Authors creating this loli content and sexualizing teen characters is directly feeding into that.

They also like to bring up the “it’s legal in Japan” but I don’t care. Just cause something legal doesn’t make it moral or okay in any way. There have been, and are, questionable laws around the world that most people agree are strange and weird, but so many anime fans are quick to brush off japans age of consent laws in defense of some weird shit in anime.
