Do you think Ken was always open to humans?

Basically everyone in the gaslight district hates humans. The only characters etalbished not to are Ken and Mel. (well i mean it isnt said out loud but I doubt ken would protect mel if he hated humans, and i mean mel herself is human. that just be friendly fire) But do you think Ken has ever hated humans? and if you do what got him to change his mind?

I think it would be really sweet if Ken found mel as a baby, and tried to kill her since she was a human. But just couldn't and raised her. I don't have any evidence though besides it would be nice character growth.
