Seeing hepatologist for the first time this week
I’m very nervous and unsure what to expect. I don’t drink alcohol at all; I quit almost 10 years ago and drank very, very little before that. My BMI is 23. I don’t have hepatitis. Still, with routine bloodwork, suddenly I started having abnormal liver-related results and just had an ultrasound that came out wonky. From googling, it looks like I have stage F3 liver disease? I looked up symptoms and have a lot of them: fatigue, itching, etc. I don’t have jaundice.
I’m being told that I likely need a biopsy. Does that sound right? And if it isn’t alcohol or weight-related, what could it possibly be?
I’m scared.
