My girlfriend is going to a mental hospital and then leaving in-person school for online
Hi, I (16m) have been with my girlfriend (17f) for a while now. Recently she has had serious mental health issues, and was heavily contemplating suicide. In the most recent time she wanted to, I kind of freaked out and told people, some things happened and she spent last night in the hospital. Today she messaged a group chat we’re in saying that she will be gone for awhile, and she’ll be moving to online school. She also said she won’t have her phone or really any other device to communicate with. We’re very close, and we talk basically every moment of the day, and I very much value seeing her, more than anything at the moment. I don’t know how to cope with this. Im so glad she’ll finally be getting the help she needs, and I feel really bad for being upset about not being able to talk or see her for months likely. I’ve been trying to keep myself busy today with things I enjoy, but it’s not working at all. I have very few friends, and they usually don’t respond so I have basically no one to talk to, to distract myself. Please, if anyone’s been through anything even remotely similar to this, how can I get out of this state of constant melancholy?
P.S. sorry for any sentence fragments or bad grammar, I’m usually better at writing but im not in the headspace to do it right at the moment
