Max amps on Flo X3 in Canada (Quebec)
Hoping someone can help me sort this out.
We recently moved into a house that was pre-wired so we can have an electric car charger installed. Electrician tells me the wire is "6" and can handle up to 60 amps. We asked the electrician to recommend a charger and he says Flo Home X3. So we buy a Flo X3, electrician comes to install it and tells us max it can handle is 50 amps and installs a 50 amp breaker. After installation, open up the app and see it's set to 40 amps. Read through the manual and see that the max amps setting with a 50 amp breaker is 40 amps, but if it was wired through a 60 amp breaker, we could set it to 48 amps.
Call the electrician to talk about this and he says max is 50 amps so he installed it with a 50 amp breaker but that he'll come back and install a 60 amp breaker. But if it doesn't work, he'll charge me for the full service call. (if it does work, just charge for the 60 amp breaker).
Am I interpreting the instructions correctly and we could set the charger to 48 amps with a 60 amp breaker? See attached pics of junction box, app screen and instructions. Thanks!
