Tongue piercing advice

I’m getting my tongue pierced this Thursday on the 18th. I’ve been doing a lot of research about tongue, piercings and aftercare and the healing process. I went to my consultation and asked all the questions and got a pretty good understanding of what to expect but my piercer does not have a tongue piercing so anybody out there that has a tongue piercing any extra advice What mouthwashes did you use? What did you eat the pain level for you and all that good jazz would be great.
