We’re homeless!

Housing

It hurts to say out loud, but I can’t believe this has happened to us! We have been evicted from our home. I am 7.5 months and it has been a major struggle for the past 6 months. Trying to make ends meet and keeping up with everything. When we were first faced with eviction I reached out to management because we wanted to do a payment plant but they refused. Then we reached out to management of our property to get permission for a company that was recommended by the courts to help pay for up to 3 months back rent, but their lawyer says it’s up to management choice to say yes or no. It’s very disheartening and unexpected, but they said no. I thought the company would want the money but they just wanted us out. We have never had issues with this company ever we had been living there since 2021. This our first time having to deal with management other than maintenance to our air unit and leaking sink.

My husband’s primary job closed their doors in July. This is all while he while he was in plumbing school and I was still employed as a certified teacher. At the end of the school year I was terminated due to certification expired, but was able to be reinstated in August as adjunct certification due to my highly effectiveness as a teacher.

I am 7.5 month pregnant. We have 4 amazing children. We were expecting to have a home birth this time.

This is so hard. I worked very hard to go to college, get myself out of poverty, off of HUD and public assistance. This is without family or friends to help. Just to feel like I’m back at square one. Can’t get a loan. Can’t find a home with an eviction on my record. Just a hotel. This is sad and painful. Trying to keep it together. Day by day.
