NB2 shifter rebuild grease vs oil

Hey there I am rebuilding my shifter and am getting quite confused with the oil thing. Flying Miata’s tutorial says NBs do not need to drain or apply oil however I’m reading that NB2s do use oil and not grease.

Do I have to drain the oil while I have the shifter off or will it drain when I change my transmission fluid? Please help because I’m stupid and not mechanical.
