Does anyone else only think of what to say hours later? This is how I’ve been dealing with it
There are days when I feel like my brain works fine until I have to actually talk to people. I’ll be in a group and all of a sudden my mind goes blank, like my body just decided “nahh, we’re not contributing today.” Then later at night I’ll think of several clever things I should've said and it drives me nuts. I used to think that meant I was boring or just socially broken, but I noticed something weird when I started writing stuff down before hanging out. Like, literally a few sentences about my day or a story I found funny. When I had those in the back of my head, I didn’t freeze up as much.
It’s not a magic fix, I still blank sometimes, but it felt like training wheels for conversations. Anyone else ever try stuff like that?
