My husband doesn’t like me traveling

For some context, my husband and I discussed this topic before we got married and he kindly said he doesn’t agree with the concept of women traveling without a mahram. I’ve told him that it’s something I looked forward to for so long because I always put my studies first and told myself I’d relax after.

Fast forward to now, we’ve been married for over 2 years and I have the opportunity to travel with friends. I finally finished my degree and now have some downtime. I asked him if I could travel and he said “no, you know I don’t like that.” The tone he said it in was very authoritative. I understand we have different beliefs regarding this matter, but it affects me and not him. It’s not like I’m saying I’ll travel every other weekend and be in different countries all the time, a trip or two a year would suffice. I understand that once we have kids it’ll be difficult to travel more often. How do I get him to see my point? Has anyone else gone through this with their spouse? I want to feel like a partner, I never stop him when he goes to travel with his friends. It hurt when he told me he could travel with his friends and create memories with them because he’s a guy and is allowed to do so, but I’m not.

Looking for ways to resolve this and reach a common ground!
