Transitional year residency to Categorical IM Position

Hi everyone,

I’m a non-US IMG currently considering a transitional year residency for one year. I wanted to ask if it’s possible to apply for a categorical Internal Medicine position afterward, keeping in mind that I would need J1 visa sponsorship through ECFMG. Has anyone navigated this path or have insights on the feasibility and process?
