I did not take a photo, I'm sorry. I did manage to wrangle the spider and let it go outside, though! I did not kill it even though it scared the shit out of me 😭

I went to put some clothes in my dresser and saw movement out of the corner of my eye. It was definitely a brown spider. It had very long, thin legs. The abdomen was long and pointed. It moved lightning fast and then froze in what I assume was a defensive position; I think it was the two or three front pairs of legs up in the air, seeming ready to strike. There were thin strands of webbing across my clothes. It was pretty still, didn't move when I went to get a cup or shined a light on it, didn't move much when I herded it into the cup and walked downstairs. It only moved when I tipped the cup over to let it go and it shot across the ground. Idk if they're called mandibles but it had bigger jowls by its mouth than I've ever seen on a spider before. It was probably about the size of a quarter when it was angry and defensive at me, so maybe half dollar size when relaxed. Compared to it's long legs, the body and abdomen seemed relatively small so I was wondering if it was maybe a male since they tend to be smaller (to my very limited knowledge). Mostly I'm just hoping it wasn't a brown recluse 😭 it didn't look terribly similar to the ones that popped up on Google but it was hard to tell cause I did see some photos with pointed abdomens. I was wondering if maybe anyone could ease my mind? I know it's hard since I didn't take a photo but any peace of mind would be oh so welcome.

Thank you for taking the time to read!
