LRS, overseas transfer

Hey guys - looking to transfer some funds from India overseas. I understand LRS limits at $250K/year for resident Indians.

While I was looking up NRO account deposits I’m seeing some conflicting info so asking this group for clarity. Can my parent deposit $1M USD into NRO Acct as a gift and then I can repatriate ? Or is this gift amount also subject to LRS limits of .25M usd?
